- 24-year-old soldier Oleksandr Chupyr (call sign Madzhyk) was killed on March 22, 2024, as a result of a direct hit by an enemy ATGM on the combat vehicle he was traveling in, near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. Oleksandr was born in Toretsk, Donetsk region. After graduating from local school No. 6, he entered the National University "Dnipro Polytechnic" and moved to Dnipro. In 2022, he obtained a higher education degree in "Mining". He wrote songs, practiced wrestling, loved animals, and was interested in military affairs. He had various ideas about how to connect his life after the war, from building a military career to obtaining a veterinary education. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the Dnipro Defense Forces (DFTG "Varta Dnipra), where he patrolled the city, responded to shelling incidents, and guarded strategic facilities. He repeatedly volunteered to help both the military and civilians. His goal was to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, so he actively prepared: he took tactical medicine courses, aerial reconnaissance courses, and improved his physical fitness. Finally, after intensive preparation, in November 2023, he signed a contract and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became part of the 24th Separate Assault Battalion "Aydar" and defended Ukraine in the Bakhmut direction. "My nephew and godson Sasha was a brave, cheerful, kind and sensitive person, ready to come to the rescue at any moment. He loved animals very much. He was a loving son, nephew and brother to his cousin. His eternal sleep is our eternal pain!" - said the aunt of the fallen Olena. The military was buried at the Krasnopilskyi cemetery in Dnipro. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister, aunt, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
