Oleksandr A. Dubovyi

Paratrooper Oleksandr Dubovyi (call sign Dubchyk) was killed on August 23, 2022 near the village of Biloghirka in the Kherson region. In the battle with the occupiers, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy tank and artillery shelling. The warrior is now forever 41 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in the city of Khmilnyk, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the local vocational school No. 40, obtaining the profession of a mechanic and agricultural machinery repairman. In civilian life, he worked abroad as a construction worker, doing European-style renovations. He was passionate about fishing and automotive mechanics. During the full-scale invasion, the man went to the front to protect his native land from the Russian occupiers. He fought in the ranks of the 46th separate airmobile brigade. He was a grenadier. "The closest and dearest person to me. He had golden hands and a golden heart. He returned from abroad a month before the war and went as a volunteer on June 7, 2022," said his sister Halyna. Oleksandr was buried in his hometown. The hero left behind three sons, a sister, and four nephews. Posthumously, soldier Oleksandr Dubovyi was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
