- Sergeant Alexander Kononenko (call sign Netot) was killed on April 21, 2023, while performing his official duties in the area of the village of Voskresenska in the Donetsk region. The defender's life was cut short due to acute cardiovascular failure, which was caused by his participation in fierce battles for Ukraine's independence. Alexander was born and lived in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. He graduated from Melitopol Higher Vocational School No. 40. In 2014-2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). In civilian life, he worked as an entrepreneur, repairing gadgets. Having combat experience, the man did not hesitate and in 2022, when the occupiers launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine's territory, Alexander joined the 128th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a 2nd category sniper in the sniper platoon of the fire support company of the 232nd battalion. "Even in 2014, he went to fight with the words: 'I don't want you and mom to see what I saw. That's why I'm here.' And this time it happened - he left Melitopol in the first days of the great war and went to the military registration and enlistment office, a month later he ended up in the Donetsk direction. He was cosmic, always with his own opinion, people were drawn to him. He always had a lot of plans. Comrades-in-arms spoke very warmly about him, saying that he was irreplaceable and they missed him. It hurts us and our mother very much..." - said the deceased's sister Darya. The warrior was buried at the Kushugum cemetery near Zaporizhzhia. The mother was unable to say goodbye to her son, as she is in the occupied city.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
