Oleksandr A. Shamarin

27-year-old soldier Oleksandr Shamarin was killed on July 10, 2022 while performing military duty in the Kurakhovo direction. He sustained fatal injuries as a result of hostile missile shelling. Oleksandr was born in Kharkiv. He graduated from local lyceum No. 54. He then received professional education at the Kharkiv Radio Engineering College. He worked in the IT field. He was passionate about video games, loved playing tennis, walking, attending concerts and relaxing in nature. During the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, the man became a fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He commanded a unit. "He was a rather intelligent, understanding and caring person. He always helped and supported everyone. Cheerful, he could lift anyone out of depression," said the brother of the deceased. "I knew him since birth, sometimes I helped his mother and picked up Sasha from kindergarten. Oleksandr was a smiling person, always positive. He helped his mother, whom he loved very much. Together with his friend and brother, they organized a holiday, prepared and set the table for their mother's wedding," added the godmother of the deceased Olena Miatyha. Oleksandr was buried at the Staro-Lyubotyn cemetery in the Kharkiv region. The defender left behind his parents Andriy and Olena, brother Vladyslav, grandmother Nina Ulianivna, as well as other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
