Oleksandr A. Shkoliarchuk (Moriachok)

Junior Lieutenant Oleksandr Shkoliarchuk (call sign Moryachok) was killed in action with the occupiers near the village of Berezove in Donetsk region on April 18, 2022. The officer's life was cut short by enemy artillery fire. He was 35 years old, having celebrated his birthday 11 days before his death. Oleksandr was born in the city of Dubno, Rivne region. He stu at Dubno School No. 1. From his youth, he loved sports and attended football and basketball sections at the Dubno Youth Sports School. In 2011, he graduated from Lviv National University of Natural Resources. Until 2014, he worked as a land surveyor engineer. He then joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and fought in the ATO/OOS in Donbas. In 2022, he fulfilled his dream of becoming an officer, obtaining a second higher education at the Department of Military Training at the Rivne National University of Water Management and Natural Resources. During the full-scale war, Oleksandr commanded a reconnaissance platoon in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. "Oleksandr was cheerful, life-loving, brave, and never hid behind others' backs. Since 2014, he had only fought on zero positions. He was a loving father and a caring son," said the niece and goddaughter of the deceased, Anna. The officer was buried in the village of Kryvuha, Rivne region. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, wife, son, and sister. Posthumously, Junior Lieutenant Oleksandr Shkoliarchuk was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree.
