Oleksandr A. Tokarev

Soldier Oleksandr Tokarev was killed on January 28, 2023 in battle with the occupiers near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The defender was 39 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in the village of Ivanivka, Luhansk region. He worked at the Hirska mine. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he moved with his family to Dnipropetrovsk region, to the city of Pershotravensk. He worked as a miner in the Pershotravensk mine administration. In December 2022, Oleksandr was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". He was a driver. "Relatives, friends, colleagues and comrades-in-arms remember Oleksandr as a positive, bright person, a reliable comrade and a true patriot," the Pershotravensk community said. "Unfortunately, it is difficult to heal the painful wound of loss with words. After all, the death of a loved one is a great trial. Heroes do not die, they remain in our hearts forever. Eternal memory and glory to the Ukrainian warrior who defended the Motherland and each of us!" said the Hirska Military-Civil Administration. "Eternal memory to Oleksandr, may the earth be soft for him. It's a pity that he won't be buried in his native city. He was born there, baptized and married, worked at the native mine! Patience to the family," wrote acquaintance Svitlana Davydova. "What a pity... A very good person has gone into eternity... Heartfelt condolences to the family," wrote acquaintance Liubov Demura. The serviceman was buried in the city of Pershotravensk, Dnipropetrovsk region. Oleksandr is survived by his wife and son.
