With the onset of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor into the territory of Ukraine, Oleksandr Bratslavskyi, as part of the volunteer battalion "Svoboda," carried out combat missions and participated in the battles for the liberation of the settlements of Bucha, Hostomel, and Irpin. He was subsequently mobilized into the ranks of the 4th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. He took part in the defense of the settlements of Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast. While carrying out another combat mission on June 5, 2022, he was killed by a mine-explosive injury.
