Biography
Gavanyuk Oleksandr Dmytrovych was born on January 23, 1977, in the village of Manyava, Ivano-Frankivsk district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. With the start of the war in Eastern Ukraine, he was mobilized. Starting from July 2014, he was repeatedly in Donbas as part of the ATO and JFO. He defended Donetsk Airport and liberated Sloviansk. After returning, he became the first head of the Bohorodchany district association of ATO veterans. He worked at the Manyava forestry as a senior gamekeeper and later as a forest master. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was one of the first to be called up to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was killed on March 28, 2022, in battle in Kyiv region. The funeral service took place on April 3, 2022, at the Church of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The hero was buried in the New Cemetery in the village of Manyava, Solotvyno village territorial community in Ivano-Frankivsk region.Burial place
