Oleksandr D. Nahornyi (Oskar)

22-year-old serviceman Oleksandr Nahorny was killed in action on July 23, 2022, in Donetsk Oblast. An enemy shell hit the defender straight in the chest, he was killed in action instantly. Oleksandr was born and lived in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv Oblast. After school, he served in the National Guard of Ukraine. In his free time, he was engaged in sports and fishing. The young man was just starting his life path, had many dreams and plans. However, a full-scale war began. Oleksandr joined the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians and went to defend Ukraine from Russian occupiers. He took part in the defense of his native Kyiv region, and later went to Donbas. Unfortunately, it was there that the defender took his last battle. "He was very kind, brave, sensitive. He loved life. Always helped everyone. He took care of his family, wanted to provide them with a peaceful and quiet life," said his former girlfriend Nadiya Yuntsiva. The serviceman was buried in his native Bila Tserkva. At home, Oleksandr's parents and younger sister were waiting for him.
