Oleksandr E. Nazarenko

Reconnaissance officer Oleksandr Nazarenko was killed on June 10, 2023, in the Zaporizhzhia direction. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of a direct hit of an enemy shell on the vehicle. The warrior was forever 29 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Mykhailivka, Zaporizhzhia region. In 2012, he enrolled in the Faculty of Criminal Police at the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs. This was his dream. After graduation, he started working in the police station of his native village. He conscientiously performed his duties, which earned him the respect of his colleagues and the recognition of the management. In September 2021, the man decided to defend the Motherland from the enemy, so he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 74th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion. He carried out combat missions on the territory of the Joint Forces Operation. As part of his unit, he continued to fight during the full-scale invasion, bravely and courageously carrying out the most dangerous tasks, including in the rear of the enemy. "Our last conversation took place about an hour before his death... He was very confident, in a good mood, promised to call tomorrow... But the 'tomorrow' call was completely different... It's very difficult, but I know that Sashko gave his life for our future. Knowing him, you understand that he would not have acted otherwise. This is a truly heroic person! You will forever be in my heart and memory!" - said the sister of the fallen Olha. The hero was buried at the Kushuhum cemetery in the Zaporizhzhia region. Oleksandr is survived by his grandmother, grandfather, sisters, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
