Oleksandr H. Dobritsa (Dobryi)

Military Alexander Dobrica (call sign Dobryi) was killed on November 20, 2023 during an enemy assault in the area of the settlement of Kurdyumivka in the Donetsk region. The defender received fatal injuries as a result of a mortar attack. In October, the soldier turned 52 years old. Alexander was a native of the settlement of Oleksandrivka in the Mykolaiv region. He graduated from the local school. He served his conscription in the border troops on the Afghan-Iranian border. Then he mastered the profession of a mechanic of construction machines at the Mykolaiv Construction College. In civilian life, he worked as a carpenter. The last 15 years - at the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant. In his spare time, he loved to fish. In June 2023, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 28th separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He held the position of a rifleman - a grenade launcher's assistant. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Donetsk region. "Dad was a very kind person who helped everyone. He loved life and his whole family very much, who were his top priority, especially loved his granddaughter. He will forever remain in our hearts," said Alina Pavliuk. The hero was buried in his native village. Alexander is survived by his mother, wife, daughter and granddaughter.
