Oleksandr H. Rubets

46-year-old territorial defense fighter Oleksandr Rubets was killed on September 18, 2022, in battle for Donetsk region. Oleksandr was a native of Donetsk region. He lived and worked in the city of Kramatorsk. Before retiring, he worked as a driver in the logistics and material support department of the Kramatorsk police department. He then got a job as a cash collector at one of the banks. After the full-scale invasion of Russian occupiers, Oleksandr decided to defend his homeland from enemies. He participated in battles for Luhansk region. Later, he was transferred to the 106th separate battalion of the 109th territorial defense brigade. He served as a shooter. As part of his unit, he defended the Donetsk region. Unfortunately, near the village of Shchurove, the defender's life was cut short by a bullet from an enemy sniper. He was buried at the Alley of Heroes in the cemetery of the village of Ivanivka in Donetsk region. Oleksandr is survived by his wife and two children.
