Oleksandr H. Shkvara

Senior soldier Oleksandr Shkvar was killed on August 28, 2023, while performing his duties in the engineering and sapper company of his military unit in the village of Husynka in the Kharkiv region. After the heavy battles he had gone through, the defender's heart could not withstand. He turned 40 in July. Oleksandr was born in the village of Klishkivtsi, Chernivtsi region. He graduated from the local secondary school. Later, he obtained the profession of a builder at a college in Kyiv. For some time he lived in Irpin. Before the war, he worked in construction in the capital. He dreamed of his own family and planned to get married. When the full-scale war began, the man returned to his native village. Already in April 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as he did not want the enemy to reach his home. He served in the 3rd separate tank brigade. He underwent training. He was a driver of the transport section of the engineering and technical platoon. For 14 months, he, together with his comrades-in-arms, carried out combat missions on the front line. He was buried in his native village. Oleksandr is survived by his mother Yevheniia Mykhailivna, sister Natalia, beloved Yuliia, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms. A memorial plaque in his honor was installed on the facade of the Klishkivtsi school.
