- Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Boiko (call sign Boi) was killed on April 27, 2023 in the battle for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. While performing a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. The defender was 46 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in the city of Sarny, Rivne region. He graduated from the Sarny Higher Vocational School No. 22 as a driver-electrician. In his youth, he was involved in Greco-Roman wrestling. In one of the competitions, he won 1st place in the region, for which he received a medal and monetary reward. In civilian life, he worked as a foreman at an enterprise. He was interested in cars and loved to study old coins. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man defended his country from the enemy in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". He held the position of a sniper shooter. "A patriot of his country, an exemplary family man, a beloved husband, a loving father. He loved life and people, dreamed of victory. He always said: 'Who, if not me!' and 'It's not a sin to be afraid, it's a sin to betray your own,' " said the widow of the fallen Liubov. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his hometown. Oleksandr is survived by his wife, two sons, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
