Oleksandr I. Karasyk

Born on February 28, 1967, in the village of Kyslivka, Kupiansk district, Kharkiv region. Graduated from high school. Served mandatory military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR. In the summer of 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a squad commander in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0501 (field post V6250), village of Kluhino-Bashkyrivka, Chuhuiv City Council, Kharkiv region). Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. At the end of August 2014, junior sergeant Oleksandr Karasik, as part of the tactical group of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, participated in the attempt to unblock Ukrainian units in the city of Ilovaisk, Donetsk region. On August 27, 2014, junior sergeant Oleksandr Karasik died as a result of an accident during the movement of the tactical group in the area of the village of Petrivske, Petrivska village council, Starobeshivskyi district, Donetsk region. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Svitank, Chuhuiv district, Kharkiv region.
