Oleksandr I. Khvala (Khalva)

40-year-old Oleksandr Khvala (call sign Khalva) was killed on June 12, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Levadne, Zaporizhzhia region. The defender received fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. Oleksandr was from the city of Chortkiv, Ternopil region. He graduated from the Terebovlia Higher School of Culture with a degree in "Folk Choreography". In civilian life, he worked as a foreman at Ukrzaliznytsia. He spent his free time with his loved ones. During the full-scale war, in January 2023, the man became a serviceman of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynsky. He was a grenade launcher. "The most beautiful person in my life. He was not only a good husband, friend, and caring father, but also a person who taught me to live with love, trust, and also in protection and security. My Sunshine," shared the wife of the fallen Oksana. For more than two weeks, the military was considered missing, until on June 28, his body was taken from the battlefield. Oleksandr was buried on the Alley of Glory in his hometown. The defender left behind a wife and two sons.
