Oleksandr I. Protsyk (Sania)

Sergeant Oleksandr Protsyk (call sign Sanya) died on November 6, 2023 during enemy mortar shelling in the village of Bohdanivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 32 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Magadan (Russia). When he was 1.5 years old, he moved with his family to the Cherkasy region, to the village of Kozatske. There he graduated from Vocational School No. 37. He obtained the profession of a tractor driver. In civilian life, he worked in the agricultural production cooperative "Kozatskyi". He participated in the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation) from 2015. On February 25, 2022, without hesitation, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi. He held the position of gunner. "Sasha was very loved in the village for his kindness, generosity, and sincerity. His comrades-in-arms valued him, and the volunteers loved him. He was the first to donate even from the trenches. The whole family accepted his choice... We miss him very much, he is forever in our hearts and memory," said his sister Anna. The warrior was buried in his native village. Oleksandr is survived by his mother, sister, and nephews.
