Oleksandr I. Surin

Surin Oleksandr Ivanovych was born on February 10, 1982, in the city of Zhytomyr. Later, he moved with his family to the village of Sloboda-Selets in the Zhytomyr region. From 1988, he stuwas killed at Secondary School No. 6 in Zhytomyr. After finishing the 8th grade, he enrolled in the lyceum at Zhytomyr Polytechnic Institute. After completing the lyceum, he entered Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Two years into his studies, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in an aviation unit in Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region. After demobilization, he graduated from KPI with a degree in "Industrial Biotechnology." He could not find work in his field, so he worked various jobs. In particular, he was a security guard for the "Varta" detachment in the Zhytomyr Military District, an electric welder at the scientific and production enterprise "Diada," then a laboratory technician at the scientific and production enterprise "Electrogazokhim," and also a technician in the phytochemical workshop of the pharmaceutical factory DKP "Pharmaceutical Factory." In 2014, with the start of the war in Eastern Ukraine, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2016 to 2019, he served under contract. During his participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), he was injured in the leg. He was discharged with the rank of junior sergeant and engaged in beekeeping. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was called up for mobilization. He served in the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. Oleksandr Surin was killed on March 6, 2022, near the village of Makariv in the Kyiv region as a result of an airstrike. He was buried on March 14, 2022, in the village of Sloboda-Selets in the Zhytomyr region.
