Oleksandr I. Zhukov

Born on August 23, 1986, in the village of Mala Bilozirka, Vasylivka District, Zaporizhia Oblast. In 2001, he graduated from the 9th grade of the general education school in the village of Mala Bilozirka, and in 2004, he completed the Melitopol Professional Railway Transport Lyceum (now the Melitopol Multidisciplinary Center for Vocational and Technical Education (railway profile), in the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhia Oblast). Since 2004, he worked as a train assembler at the Zaporizhia Iron Ore Plant (village of Mala Bilozirka, Vasylivka District, Zaporizhia Oblast). From May 28, 2015, to July 25, 2016, he served in the military under partial mobilization in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served as a shooter in the 23rd Separate Brigade of Public Order Protection of the Southern Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3033, cities of Zaporizhia, Melitopol, Berdiansk, Enerhodar, Zaporizhia Oblast), as a senior machine gunner in the 9th Operational Purpose Regiment ("Gepard") of the Southern Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3029, city of Zaporizhia), and as a shooter in the 16th Public Order Protection Regiment of the Central Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3036, city of Dnipro). From July 25, 2016, to July 26, 2017, he served under contract as a mechanic-driver in the 16th Public Order Protection Regiment of the Central Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3036, city of Dnipro). From October 30, 2015, to June 8, 2017, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He served in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast. From September 22, 2017, he served under contract as a shooter-paramedic in the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1126, urban-type settlement of Hvardiyiske, Novomoskovsk District, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast). Since October 2017, he again participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He was involved in battles in the industrial zone of the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast. On October 28, 2017, around 21:00, soldier Oleksandr Zhukov was killed by a gunshot wound to the head during shelling from infantry weapons at a platoon stronghold in the industrial zone of the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast. On October 31, 2017, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Mala Bilozirka, Vasylivka District, Zaporizhia Oblast.
