Oleksandr L. Kharytonov (Nomad)

Junior Lieutenant Oleksandr Kharytonov (call sign Nomad) was killed on June 1, 2024 in the city of Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, as a result of a direct hit by an enemy drone. The defender was forever 22 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk region. He graduated from secondary school No. 8. Teachers remember him as a brilliant student, a winner of numerous olympiads, and friends remember him as a good companion, reliable, cheerful, with many plans and full of life. After school, Oleksandr entered the Military Law Institute of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University of Kharkiv. He worked at the State Bureau of Investigation. The full-scale invasion caught him in Kharkiv. Oleksandr was finishing his 4th year at the university. Without hesitation, together with his fellow students, he joined the ranks of the local territorial defense. Later, he joined the 82nd separate air assault brigade. He held the position of platoon commander, was an officer of the planning group of the air assault battalion of military unit A2582. The defender was buried in his hometown. Oleksandr's mother is left behind. He was her only son, her pride and the meaning of her life.
