Oleksandr L. Zaichenko (Pleiboi)

Sergeant Oleksandr Zaichenko (call sign Playboy) died on June 13, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Spirne in the Donetsk region. The enemy's guided missile hit the combat vehicle he was traveling in. The warrior was 27 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Talne, Cherkasy region. After graduating from Talne Secondary School No. 3, he obtained the profession of painter, plasterer, and tiler at the Kyiv Vocational and Technical School. In 2016, he was drafted into the National Guard of Ukraine. Then he signed a contract with the 4th Operational Purpose Brigade named after Sergeant Serhii Mykhalchuk, Hero of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation. Military service became his calling. He served in the reconnaissance platoon. During the full-scale war, Oleksandr held the position of reconnaissance operator in the special purpose reconnaissance platoon of the 1st Operational Purpose Battalion. During his military service, the warrior was awarded the medals "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation", "War Veteran", and the Order of Courage III degree, which his relatives received after Oleksandr's death. He was buried in the cemetery in the city of Talne. He left behind a 4-year-old son, Kostiantyn, and a loving family and friends.
