- Sergeant Oleksandr Astakhantsev (call sign Doctor Zlo, Samurai) was killed in action on April 7, 2022, in a battle with the occupants near the city of Popasna in Luhansk region. The warrior was 53 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Berdychiv, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from Berdychiv Medical College and received the profession of a paramedic. After graduation, he served in the army. Later, he worked in his specialty. In 2005-2016, he lived in Mykolaiv, where he worked as an assistant to the head of security. He was engaged in his favorite sport - kyokushin karate. He participated in competitions of various levels, was in the team of the regional federation. He performed at the championship in Italy, had a brown belt. He took prize places in tournaments. He collected mini-copies of cars, collected coins and stamps. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, he went to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in the ATO / JFO. He was wounded. During treatment in the hospital, he met his future wife Natalia. Later, he proposed. In 2019, he moved to the city of Volnovakha in Donetsk region - to the homeland of his wife. There he served in a brigade of emergency medical care. Two days before the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr's contract was to end, but he decided to stay. So, on February 24, 2022, the husband continued to serve as a combat medic of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo. "He was cheerful, loved to travel, read a lot, was fond of fantasy. He did not lose his spirit. He was the whole world for me," said the wife of the deceased Natalia. Oleksandr was buried in the cemetery in the village of Hryshkivtsi, Zhytomyr region. He left behind his mother, wife, and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
