- Sergeant Oleksandr Baida (call sign Jazira) was killed on March 29, 2023, during demining operations in the city of Snihurivka, Mykolaiv region. He sustained mine and explosive injuries to his lower extremities and other fatal injuries. Oleksandr was 37 years old. He was born in Kazakhstan. In 2001-2004, he studied at the Volochysk Vocational and Technical Lyceum, where he obtained the profession of a lathe operator. He then worked at several enterprises: LLC "Agrobusiness," where he held the position of a baker, as well as at VMZ "Motor Sich" and "Agrarian Company 2004." Since 2018, he had been working in Hungary. During the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr joined the ranks of military unit T-0910 to defend Ukraine. He was a senior sapper of the 1st engineering and sapper platoon of the engineering support company. He was awarded the "Honor and Pride of the Volochysk Community" and "Courage and Valor" distinctions, and posthumously the Order of Courage, 3rd degree. His wife, Maryna Baida, said that he was a kind and loving husband, father, and good son who cared for his family. He was very fond of his son and was proud of him. He considered it his duty to defend the state, which is why he returned from abroad. He chose the profession of a sapper because he liked it. When he came home on leave, he enthusiastically told about his military profession at the school where his son studied. The warrior was buried in the cemetery in the city of Volochysk, Khmilnytskyi region. His mother Mariia, wife Maryna, and son Davyd were waiting for him at home.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
