- Sergeant Oleksandr Bodnar (call sign Dorian) was killed on December 2, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of Pervomaiske village in the Donetsk region. The defender was 24 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Cherkasy University of Fire Safety named after the Heroes of Chornobyl. Recently, he lived in Odesa and worked in the security service. He practiced Eastern martial arts, in particular wushu (sanshou). During the full-scale war, in July 2022, the man signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his country. He served in the ranks of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He underwent training in Britain and became a ATGM "Corsair" gunner. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he took part in the liberation of the Kherson region, and then went to the Bakhmut direction. "I can't put into words how painful it is to realize that you are no longer here... You will forever remain in our memory as a smiling and cheerful guy. Light clouds to you, my friend, thank you and deep bow to you. Heroes never die!" - wrote his comrade Serhii Rodionov. The warrior was buried in his hometown. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
