Oleksandr M. Homan (DVD)

Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Homan (call sign DVD) was killed on June 12, 2023, in a battle with Russian invaders near the village of Levadne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The warrior was 40 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Horlivka, Donetsk region. In childhood, he moved with his family to the village of Mali Kopani in the Kherson region. There he finished secondary school. He served his military service. All his peaceful life he was engaged in agriculture. He loved cars and dogs very much. In 2014-2015, the man took part in the ATO. Later, he continued to fight. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a contract, which he concluded in 2017 and 2019. He fought in the Donetsk direction. From the first days of the full-scale war, Oleksandr returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of platoon commander in the 36th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo. "I loved my husband very much. He was a good person and a true military man. He always supported and protected the family. He helped friends. He loved his daughters very much. He never gave up and believed in Ukraine's victory. He fought for this until his last breath. He was faithful to his comrades-in-arms and as a commander in battle, he was always with them," Tamara Homan said. The marine was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in the city of Boiarka, Kyiv region. Oleksandr is survived by his wife and two daughters.
