- Sergeant Oleksandr Honcharov (call sign Yager) was killed on August 14, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender would have turned 26 years old in a month. Oleksandr was from the village of Temyrivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. After school, he graduated from a medical college with a degree in Pharmacy. During his military service, he studied at a private university in Zaporizhzhia, where he obtained a degree in physical rehabilitation and a teacher of health basics. He had always dreamed of being a soldier. He has been defending the country since 2019. He signed a contract and joined the ranks of the 3rd separate special forces regiment named after Sviatoslav the Brave. He met the full-scale war on the front line. He went through the military path from a scout to the deputy commander of the group. For his service, the warrior had a number of awards, including the badge "For Exemplary Service", the award "I Go to You", the Order of Courage of the III degree, and the award "For Valor and Loyalty". "Sasha was an honest person, he bravely defended his country, knowing that his life could end at any moment. We are very proud of him, we love and miss him. Without him, life no longer has any meaning. He always cared for me, my parents, my brother, and all our relatives. Because family was the most important thing in his life. He was a wonderful person, kind, and everyone respected and valued him, because to have such a friend as he was an honor," said the warrior's beloved girlfriend Yulia. "Oleksandr is my cousin who gave his life for freedom and peace. His courage, resilience, and dedication have become an example for all of us. He went into eternity, leaving us his light, his love, and his faith in a better future. Sasha was not just a warrior, he was a defender, a friend, and a brother who always stood for truth and honor. We are in pain from the loss of a brother, but we will cherish his memory in our hearts and pass on his story to future generations," wrote his cousin Valentyna. "I knew Sasha as a responsible, determined warrior and comrade-in-arms, he was a very kind and sensitive person, he never refused to help, and he had a very good sense of humor!" said his comrade-in-arms with the call sign Swan. "For me, he was kind, brave, honest, decent, and fair. With his special humor, always calm. Sometimes it seemed unusual that he was too calm when he returned from 'zero'. This is a real example of what a man should be," said his cousin Ilona. "I was behind my brother like a wall, with such a brother as I have, nothing is scary. He always supported me in everything," noted his younger brother Denys. "Sasha for us, his parents, is a gift from God, whom we waited for 7 long years. He was a child loved by everyone: relatives, neighbors, teachers, and classmates. Our son was a very kind person. When the war started, he took care of us, asked us to leave the village that the enemy was hitting. He always supported us and said that everything would be fine. He planned a peaceful future, but it was cut short. Some time after Sasha's death, a nephew was born to him. He will know and remember his uncle-hero," the parents said. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Far Eastern Cemetery in Kropyvnytskyi. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, brother, nephew, and beloved girlfriend.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
