Oleksandr M. Krapyvnytskyi (KhAM)

Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Krapyvnytskyi (call sign Ham) was killed on August 9, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Staromaiorske, Donetsk region. The warrior sustained shrapnel wounds incompatible with life as a result of enemy fire from a stationary anti-tank grenade launcher. Oleksandr was 33 years old. He was born in the city of Ovruch. He first graduated from the Cooperative College of Business and Law in Zhytomyr, and then from the Zhytomyr State Technological University. In civilian life, he worked as a security guard and a construction worker for some time. Since 2021, he held the position of machine operator at the "Ventilation Systems" company. He spent his free time with friends and helped his parents. During the full-scale war, he defended Ukraine as part of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynsky. He was the commander of the command and staff vehicle platoon of the reconnaissance company. "Only good and bright things can be said about Sashko. He never refused to help, was extremely sincere, kind and courageous, a faithful friend and comrade who did not leave in trouble. He dreamed of a happy future and planned a personal life, which the war took away from him. May his memory never fade..." wrote the sister of the fallen Natalia Kovanzhyi. The defender was buried in his native Ovruch. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister, and niece.
