Oleksandr M. Kuzyk (Kuzia)

Alexander Kuzyk (call sign Kuzia), a paratrooper, was killed on February 9, 2023, near the village of Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he sustained fatal shrapnel wounds. The defender was 20 years old. Alexander was born in the village of Pobuzany, Lviv region. He lived in the village of Zadvir'ya. He graduated from the Zolochiv Vocational Lyceum, where he obtained the profession of painter-plasterer. He worked in his specialty abroad. He spent his free time with his family. He loved to relax with friends, go fishing, and cook. During the full-scale invasion, in December 2022, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 80th separate air assault brigade, holding the position of rifleman. "Sashko was very brave and did not fear the war, he went to defend our freedom. He was a good man and a loving father. We loved him very much, love him, and will always love him. He is our Hero! His sons will always be proud of him," said the wife of the fallen soldier. The warrior was buried in his native village of Pobuzany. At home in Alexander, his parents, his wife Victoria, and his two sons, Maksym and Oleksandr, were waiting for him. The younger one did not have time to see his father.
