Oleksandr M. Lapa (Lom)

Soldier Oleksandr Lapa (call sign Lom) was killed on April 24, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Khromove in the Donetsk region. The defender's life was cut short by enemy artillery shelling. A day before this, the warrior would have turned 45 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Trudolyubivka, Kirovohrad region. He studied at the Kirovohrad school, which he graduated from in 1995. He worked as a tractor driver in the collective farm "Moloda Gvardiya". From 1996 to 1998, he served in the railway troops in the Lviv region. He then worked as a security guard, loader, and served in the bodies of the State Criminal Executive Service of Ukraine. Later, he became a farmer. He loved his work, communication with friends, and walks in nature. In September 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a machine gunner in the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade. He fought in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Donetsk regions. "Sashka (as we called him) was the best person in the world, honest, polite, undemanding, patient, loyal. He never betrayed and never complained about life or any difficulties. Just the best brother and friend. It so happened that our mother left us when he was 13 and I was 9. Our father was killed of cancer, our grandmother and grandfather was killed of old age. So the brother was left with me and my family," said the deceased's brother Vitaliy. The military was buried in the village of Rivne, Kirovohrad region. Oleksandr is survived by his brother with his wife and three nephews.
