Oleksandr M. Mostovyi (Malyi)

32-year-old Sergeant Oleksandr Mostovyi (call sign Malyi) was killed on July 17, 2023 in the area of the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. He went to retrieve wounded comrades and came under enemy fire. Oleksandr was born and lived in the village of Kruve Ozero in the Mykolaiv region. He obtained a secondary education. After completing his military service, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation for two years. Later, he returned to civilian life and worked at the company "Avtomahistral-Pivden". On the first day of the full-scale invasion, the man arrived at his military unit and again took up the defense of his homeland. He fought as part of the 3rd separate special operations regiment named after Prince Sviatoslav the Brave of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his service, the soldier was awarded the distinctions: "For Exemplary Service", "For Excellence in Military Service" of the III degree, "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation", and "For the Defense of Ukraine". The last award was posthumous - the Order of Courage of the III degree. "Sasha was a close friend and godfather to our family. He was a true hero and a courageous warrior who gave his life for our country. He was a very good person and a loyal friend, always helping and supporting," said Iryna Kertychak. The hero is buried in his hometown. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his mother Iryna, brother Denys, other relatives, close ones, and friends.
