- Sergeant Major Oleksandr Nikitin (call sign Whiskey) was killed on December 9, 2022 in the Ochakiv area of Mykolaiv region. During the performance of a combat mission near the Mayskyi island, he received fatal injuries. The defender was 39 years old. Oleksandr was a native of Synelnykove, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from Dnipropetrovsk Vocational School No. 58 and obtained the profession of an electric locomotive assistant driver. In 2002-2005, he served under contract in the 79th Separate Airmobile Regiment. Then he worked as an automotive mechanic. Since 2017, he has been fighting for Ukraine in the ATO/JFO. He served in the 73rd Marine Special Operations Center named after Otaman Antin Holovaty. He was a technician of the group, a reconnaissance diver. In 2018, during the performance of a combat mission, he lost his leg below the knee, but after rehabilitation he continued his service and continued to defend the state. During the full-scale war, he held the position of an instructor of the diving department. "He was engaged in sports, supported other amputees, demonstrating that a prosthesis does not prevent a full life. A true patriot, a man of honor, a loving father, an example to follow," said the wife of the fallen soldier, Svitlana. The warrior was buried in the village of Chornomorka, Mykolaiv region, where he lived with his family. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his wife, son and daughter. Posthumously, Senior Sergeant Oleksandr Nikitin was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
