Oleksandr M. Sokruta (Hrim)

Soldier Oleksandr Socruta (call sign Thunder) died on November 10, 2023 in a battle with Russian invaders near the village of Lyman Pershyi in the Kharkiv region. The defender was 47 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Konotop, Sumy region. His childhood was not easy - he was raised in an orphanage, so in adulthood he paid special attention to his family and spent all his free time with them. He received his professional education at vocational school No. 25 in Trostyanets. For some time he worked at PJSC "Mayak". On April 18, 2023, the man joined the ranks of the defenders. He served in the 113th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a sniper rifleman. "I am the daughter of the fallen warrior-hero, the best dad, beloved husband, brave brother, caring son-in-law, faithful friend and reliable comrade. My dad was a kind, reliable and cheerful person. Family was always his top priority. The kindest person in the world, who will always come to help. He was always a fair, honest and hardworking person. If you look at his face, you can see what war is like..." said Marharyta Socruta. The defender was buried in the village of Boromlya in the Sumy region, where he lived with his family. Oleksandr is survived by his wife Liudmyla and daughter Marharyta.
