Oleksandr M. Zots

Sergeant Oleksandr Zots was killed on September 9, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. He was forever 28 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Bilmachivka, Chernihiv region. In 2001, he went to study at the local secondary school. Then he entered the Konotop Higher Vocational School, where he obtained the qualification of an assistant locomotive and electric locomotive driver. In his free time, he went mushroom picking and loved to fish. He got a job at the "Beton Servis" company in Kyiv. He also worked and lived in Estonia for some time. When Russia started a full-scale war in Ukraine, Oleksandr was abroad, but he decided to return home. On November 16, 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Oleksandr held the position of commander of the 3rd reconnaissance platoon of the 80th Airborne Assault Brigade. "As soon as he came, all his friends were immediately in our yard. Such a sociable, friendly, and communicative person. They said about him that he was the soul of the company. He played the guitar for them. He spent the most time with his friends, they were his top priority. He was generous and helped everyone," said his mother, Lyubov Oleksandrivna. The defender was buried in his native village. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister, and beloved girlfriend.
