Oleksandr O. Borys

Boris Oleksandr Oleksandrovych was born on August 25, 1994 in the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. He graduated from Nizhyn Gymnasium No. 3 and Chernihiv Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training, and in 2016 - Kharkiv National University of the Air Force named after Ivan Kozhedub. He was passionate about football. In 2016, he began military service as a helicopter navigator in the helicopter squadron of the 11th separate brigade of army aviation. Participant of the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. In 2019, he became the commander of a helicopter and performed a peacekeeping mission of the United Nations in Congo. He was killed on March 15, 2022 during the performance of a combat mission near the city of Marinka in the Donetsk region. That day, the helicopter piloted by Captain Oleksandr Borys destroyed 15 units of Russian equipment and several dozen occupiers, after which his aircraft was shot down by an enemy missile.
