Oleksandr O. Dovhyi (Hross)

Soldier Oleksandr Dovhyi (call sign Gross) was killed on May 20, 2023, defending the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. In two months, on July 23, the defender would have turned 21 years old. Oleksandr was from the city of Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region. He studied at the Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University, majoring in Food Technology. He was passionate about cars and motorcycles. Before the war, he worked at Novus. When the full-scale war began, the young man left the university and went to defend his country. He served in the ranks of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a senior combat medic in the company. The young fighter saved his comrades and bravely stood in defense of the Motherland. "He was a son I was proud of and will be proud of. He was my support, the meaning of my life. He had many friends who respected him," said Kateryna Motrych. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Sukhyi Yar cemetery in his hometown. Oleksandr is survived by his mother, younger brother, wife, and daughter.
