- Military man Oleksandr Kapitonenko (call sign Sova) was killed in action on July 14, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Klynove in Donetsk region. In August, the defender would have turned 41 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Obukhiv, Kyiv region. In 1998, he graduated from the local school No. 5. Then he stu at the Kyiv Professional and Technical School, where he received the specialty of an auto mechanic. For some time, he worked in his specialty, and then moved to the trade industry. The man always had a clear position as a patriot and a concerned citizen of his state. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began, he could not stand aside and in 2015, as part of the 93rd brigade, he defended the eastern borders of the country in the ATO zone. On the first day of the full-scale invasion, on February 24, 2022, Oleksandr, without hesitation, went to war again. He held the position of gunner in the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. "My husband was a wonderful father, husband, friend, son, sensitive person, and a true, faithful friend to his comrades. And most importantly, he was a brave warrior and defender of his native Motherland. Unfortunately, he was unable to return to us. We miss him very much. Oleksandr's death was a heavy loss for our family," his wife Dina said. Oleksandr was buried in his native Obukhiv. The wife was left without a husband, and the three children were left without a father. The youngest child was only 6 years old at the time of Oleksandr's death.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
