Oleksandr O. Karpov (Karp)

Senior soldier Oleksandr Karpov (call sign Karp) was killed on September 13, 2023 near the village of Andriivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he was wounded, provided first aid to himself and tried to save a comrade. However, the injury was incompatible with life. The warrior was forever 24 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia region. He graduated from a multidisciplinary vocational education center and obtained the profession of a cook-confectioner. He worked as a cook in the "Alaska" cafe in his hometown, later as a loader at a garment factory. He was a creative person, fascinated by fantasy, adored everything related to other dimensions with magic. In addition, he loved to cook for his family and friends. He was always learning new things and improving his skills. If he decided to do something, he never abandoned the activity, carefully checked his work, and was understanding of criticism. He had a talent for drawing and writing poetry. He had many plans for life. He dreamed of his own house and "his own corner" in this world, because due to the war he lost his home. During the full-scale invasion of the invaders, the man fought for his country as part of the 3rd separate assault brigade. He held the position of driver of the assault platoon. In the future, he wanted to continue his military career. "He was a sincere and kind person. My mother accepted him as her own son. This death became painful for our whole family. We had many plans for the future. I am grateful to fate that it gave me such a man. Grateful that it gave me the opportunity to see him two days before his death... But without him, this is no longer life, it is an existence..." - shared the widow of the deceased Viktoria. Oleksandr was buried in the "Zahreblia" cemetery in the city of Smila, Cherkasy region. He is survived by his mother, wife, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. The soldier was posthumously awarded the decoration of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross".
