- Senior Lieutenant Oleksandr Kazandji (call sign Odesa) was killed on June 20, 2023 during combat operations near the village of Makarivka in the Donetsk region. On September 20, the warrior would have turned 33 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in Odesa. In 2013, he graduated from the Odesa National Law Academy. He studied at the military department in parallel, where he received the rank of junior lieutenant of the reserve. In his free time, he practiced martial arts and boxing, participated in mixed martial arts fights at the "Zaruba" club. The last two years he worked at the "Pivdennyi" seaport. He also studied at the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding in Mykolaiv. He wanted to become an engineer. The full-scale war made adjustments to the man's plans. As a reserve officer, Oleksandr was mobilized into the Ukrainian Navy. He served in the 35th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. He commanded a tank company. He took part in battles in the Kherson, Mykolaiv and Donetsk regions. A month before his death, Oleksandr was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. "We were together for 15 years, half of my life. This person was my life. He was always sincere, sensitive and kind. Courageous and brave. He was a real man, a true military professional and a talented leader. We all miss him very much, there are not enough words for this..." - said the officer's wife Marharyta. The warrior was buried at the Fontansky cemetery in his hometown. At home, his parents, wife, daughter and son were waiting for him.
