Oleksandr O. Korniiets

Senior soldier Oleksandr Korniets was killed on September 19, 2023 during an artillery shelling near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region. The defender was 34 years old. Oleksandr was born and lived in the village of Zhuravne, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the local secondary school. He worked as an automotive mechanic. In his free time, he was engaged in sports. He was passionate about cars. In 2015, Oleksandr participated in the ATO, so from the first days of the full-scale war, the man again took up the defense of the Motherland. He served in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine, holding the position of senior mechanic-driver in the 14th brigade of operational purpose. "My brother loved life very much. He was cheerful, cheerful, and had great respect in the team. He had many plans for the future, but, unfortunately, did not have time to implement them. I love my brother very much, our Hero," said Olha Kotliar. Oleksandr was buried in his native village. At home, his parents and sister were waiting for him. The military man was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
