Oleksandr O. Kosik

Soldier Oleksandr Kosik was killed on February 13, 2023 in the area of the village of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region. While performing a combat mission, he received fatal shrapnel wounds as a result of enemy shelling. The defender was 35 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Mala Bilozerka, Zaporizhzhia region. In 2008, he graduated from the Dniprrudne Industrial Technical School with a specialty in "Underground Mining Technology", and obtained the qualification of a mining technologist. In 2014, he received a full higher education in the specialty "Development of deposits and mining of minerals" at the National Mining University and received the qualification of a mining engineer. He worked as a miner at the Zaporizhia Iron Ore Plant. In his free time, he loved to fish and make products from iron and wood. During the full-scale Russian invasion, in August 2022, the man joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine to defend his native country from the occupiers. He served in the 15th separate brigade of special purpose named after the Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada. "Sasha was the best husband and father. A true patriot of his country. Honest, strong, fair, kind," said the wife of the fallen Viktoria. The warrior was buried at the Kushuhum cemetery in Zaporizhzhia. The defender is survived by his parents, brother, wife and daughter.
