Oleksandr O. Moroz

Senior soldier Oleksandr Moroz was killed on May 13, 2022 in the area of the village of Solodke in the Donetsk region. In June, he would have turned 28 years old. Oleksandr was born in the city of Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamianske) in the Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Dniprodzerzhynsk Metallurgical College, and then worked at various jobs. Recently, he was an electrician for power grids. He loved to spend time in the company of family and friends in nature, and watch movies at home. After the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the man joined the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He held the position of grenade launcher assistant. As part of his unit, Oleksandr went to the front lines of Donbas to destroy the occupiers. "My husband was a very positive person, he always helped his loved ones and friends, he was sensitive and kind. He loved to live and get pleasure from life," said Ilona Moroz, the fighter's wife. The hero was buried on the Alley of Glory of the military cemetery in his native Kamianske. At home, the defender was awaited by his wife, daughter, brother and sisters. Posthumously, Senior Soldier Oleksandr Moroz was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
