- Soldier Oleksandr Polishchuk (call sign Volya) died on September 20, 2022, in battle with the enemy near the village of Klynove in the Donetsk region. A month earlier, on August 23, the warrior turned 36 years old. Oleksandr was a native and resident of Talny, Cherkasy region. He studied at the local school No. 1. Then he acquired the profession of a woodworking machine operator at the East European University of Economics and Management. For the last 15 years, he worked in his profession abroad. He was passionate about numismatics. The man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in May 2022. He served in the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. In early September, he was transferred to the 15th battalion, taking the position of an operator in the anti-tank platoon of the fire support company. Oleksandr fought in the Donetsk region all the time. "Sasha loved and knew how to work. All his acquaintances knew that he could always be relied upon in any situation. Kind, reliable, sensitive, fair, he loved to joke and enjoy life. Sasha gave the most valuable thing - his life - for each of us," his wife said. The defender was buried in his hometown. The military left behind his parents Oleksandr Andriiovych and Larysa Petrivna, his wife Alla, daughters Oleksandra and Anastasiia, sister Inna, and brothers Oleh and Mykhailo. In January 2023, Bahriana Street in Talny was renamed in honor of Oleksandr Polishchuk.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
