Oleksandr O. Pshenychnyi (Faieton)

Staff Sergeant Oleksandr Pshenychnyi (call sign Phaeton) was killed on February 21, 2024, during enemy shelling in the Donetsk region. The defender was 45 years old. Oleksandr was born in Illintsi, Vinnytsia region. After finishing school, he studied at the Illintsi Agrarian Professional College. In civilian life, he worked as a builder. In his free time, he loved to relax in nature and go fishing. On September 23, 2020, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as part of the ATGM company of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. He aspired to protect his home and loved ones. He carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation, and with the start of the full-scale war, he continued to fight on various hot fronts. He was awarded the medal "Best Sergeant of the Military Unit A1619". "He was a loving husband, the best father, a faithful friend and comrade, a support for me and our daughters," said his wife Yulia. "Our dad was the best in the world for us. We love him very much and miss him incredibly. He is our Hero and an example. We are sure that he will be our guardian angel," said Oleksandr's daughters. "When Sasha came in 2020, we became friends. We lived together, went on vacation together, went on combat missions together. He had a lot of dreams. Everything he talked about: wife, children, family. He had such dreams for the future, but this damned war did not let them come true..." said the fallen warrior's comrade. The military was buried in his hometown. At home, Oleksandr was awaited by his wife, two daughters, loving family, and friends.
