- 26-year-old serviceman Oleksandr Pylypenko was killedon September 19, 2022 during the battles in Donbas. Oleksandr was born in the city of Lysychansk, Luhansk region. He studied at Lysychansk Lyceum No. 14. He then enrolled in the Lysychansk Vocational Lyceum. He obtained his higher education at the International University of Economics and Humanities named after Academician Stepan Demianchuk. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, Oleksandr participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). He served as part of a volunteer battalion. In 2016, he joined the ranks of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He took part in the ATO/Joint Forces Operation (JFO). In particular, he was in the battles for Popasna and Zolote in Luhansk region and Marinka and Zaitseve in Donetsk region. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr continued to defend Ukraine and his native Donbas from the Russian occupiers. However, this time the defender fought his last battle there. "And what will you do? I had the honor of knowing and fighting alongside this spring. Oleksandr Pylypenko - on the shield and in the ranks. Rest in peace, brother," wrote Oleksandr's comrade-in-arms Volodymyr Lazor. The serviceman was buried in Lviv. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, sister, and wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
