- Police Senior Lieutenant Oleksandr Sapada was killed on August 23, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Kurdyumivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior's life was cut short by enemy artillery fire. The defender did not live to see his 34th birthday, just 2 months away. Oleksandr was from the village of Horobiyivka in the Kyiv region. After the army, he decided to dedicate his life to service in law enforcement. He worked in the patrol police in Chornobyl. At the same time, he studied at the National Academy of Internal Affairs. He was an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Since 2014, he has periodically participated in the ATO. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man has continued to defend Ukraine from Russian invaders. He fought in the ranks of the united assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine "Lyut". He was the commander of the battalion "Peacekeeper". Oleksandr was and is a hero for all of us. He showed courage and resilience in defending his homeland. He dedicated his whole life to our country. Despite holding the position of commander, he was never aloof from the guys, always by their side. He said: "Who, if not us?" - said the mother of the fallen defender Iryna. Oleksandr was a kind, cheerful and fair person. He raised his stepson as his own son, investing his whole soul and knowledge in him, teaching him to be a real man. He valued, respected and honored his parents and sisters. He was the mainstay and support for the whole family. My husband was brave, carried out combat missions with honor and dignity, and was always first. Without fear for his life, he bravely fought for the freedom of his country. Until his last breath, he remained faithful to his comrades, his people and his homeland. I am proud of my husband Oleksandr. Not everyone can, looking death in the eye, without fear for their life, save others and bravely fight for the freedom of their country. He gave his life so that we could live in a free and independent Ukraine. He fought for our peaceful nights, for our peaceful life, for the future of our children, our people, our country, not sparing his own life, - wrote his wife Valentyna Kovalenko. The police officer was buried in his native village. Oleksandr is survived by his mother, stepfather, sisters, wife, stepson, other relatives, friends and comrades.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
