- Born on March 9, 1958, in the city of Mykolaiv, Lviv region. Graduated from high school, then from the Faculty of Law at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (formerly Lviv State University named after Ivan Franko, in the city of Lviv). Lived in the city of Zolochiv, Lviv region. Worked as a legal advisor. Since 1993, he engaged in legal practice. In the winter of 2013-2014, he was on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv, where he was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity. In 2015, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as the commander of a mortar battery of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit field post V0927, in the cities of Sievierodonetsk/Lysychansk, Luhansk region). Since 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Lytovets." On July 18, 2016, around 03:00, during a mortar shelling of the brigade's positions by Russian-terrorist groups in the area of the urban-type settlement of Zaitseve, Horlivka city council (now Bakhmut district) in Donetsk region, one of the shells hit the dugout where Captain Oleksandr Shvets was located. As a result of the explosion, the officer died on the spot. As a result of the shell hitting the dugout, Junior Lieutenant Volodymyr Vovchenko and soldier Mykola Litovko also died. On the same day, Senior Soldier Oleg Hrabchak died in the hospital from injuries sustained during the explosion. On July 22, 2016, he was buried in the field of Honorary Burials No. 76 at Lychakiv Cemetery in the city of Lviv.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
