- 45-year-old junior sergeant Oleksandr Synelnyk (call sign Tsar) was killed on November 14, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. The defender sustained fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar fire. Oleksandr was born in the village of Pidhoirtsi, Kyiv region. He lived with his family in Kyiv. He graduated from a vocational school in the capital, obtaining the profession of a carpenter-parquet layer. He was passionate about hunting, fishing, and working with wood. He loved to work the land. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man stood up to defend his country and his loved ones. Oleksandr served in the 61st separate rifle battalion of the 44th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a squad commander. "He loved working with wood very much. He made doors, windows, furniture, and stairs. There are many things made of wood by his hands left at home. And in general, he had golden hands. He could repair any thing and equipment. He loved to cultivate the land. He had a tractor with which he plowed the land for his neighbors in his native village. He was a hunter and a fisherman. He devoted almost all his free time to fishing. This was the best rest for him. He himself repaired and restored fishing reels. Thanks to this, he was known to fishermen all over Ukraine and beyond," said the wife of the fallen Lyudmyla. The warrior was buried in his native village. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, wife, daughter and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
