Oleksandr P. Kovch

Senior Lieutenant of the Medical Service Oleksandr Kovch died on July 26, 2024, while performing a combat mission near the village of Ponyativka in the Kherson region. The defender was 45 years old. Oleksandr was born in the village of Shchedrogir, Volyn region. He lived in the village of Ratne. He graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk Medical Academy. He was a surgeon by profession. For about 14 years, he worked at the Ratne Central District Hospital, then at the Zabolotiv and Starovyzhiv hospitals. He was fond of gardening, fishing, and playing the accordion. He adored his beloved dog and handcrafted various home items. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man served in the 35th Separate Amphibious Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. He held the position of ordinator of the medical company's medical department. "A kind, sensitive, loving person who always came to the aid of everyone who needed it. He was a real man and a patriot of his country. I am proud of my hero. He will always be in my heart," said his wife Olha. The officer was buried in his native village of Shchedrogir. Oleksandr is survived by his parents and wife.
