- 26-year-old gunner Oleksandr Rodnin (call sign Multik) was killed on September 9, 2022, during a battle with Russian occupiers near the village of Spirne in the Donetsk region. Oleksandr was originally from the village of Toshkivka in the Luhansk region. After school, he graduated from a vocational school and obtained a secondary specialized education. He worked as a car mechanic. In 2019, he enlisted in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He served as a gunner and carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). When the full-scale war began, Oleksandr, along with his comrades, defended the Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers successfully held positions near Bakhmut, Donetsk, and other hot spots on the front. However, unfortunately, it was near Bakhmut that Multik sustained a fatal injury during an enemy artillery shelling. "Sasha lived for family, for me and my little daughters, he wanted to get married to give the children everything they need. He made me the happiest and did everything to protect us," said his fiancée Tetiana. The defender was buried in the village of Prydniprovsk, Cherkasy region. Oleksandr is survived by his parents, fiancée, uncle, and godmother.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
