- Born on August 23, 1987, in the village of Uhlia, Tiachiv district, Zakarpattia region. In 2004, he graduated from the 9th grade of the general education school No. 2 in the village of Mala Uholka, Tiachiv district, Zakarpattia region, and in 2006 - from the general education school in the village of Uhlia, Tiachiv district. Since 2006, he has been in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2010, he graduated from the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy (Lviv) with a degree in "Automobiles and Automotive Economy." Since 2010, he served in the 128th Separate Guards Mountain Infantry Turkestan-Zakarpattia Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1556, city of Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region). Since the fall of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On December 4, 2014, Senior Lieutenant Shymon died from injuries sustained during shelling by Russian-terrorist groups using BM-21 "Grad" multiple rocket launchers on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the area of the city of Debaltseve, Donetsk region. On December 6, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Uhlia, Tiachiv district. On April 5, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Mala Uholka, Tiachiv district, on the facade of the building of general education school No. 2 (village of Mala Uholka, 57), where Oleksandr Shymon studied. In November 2015, a memorial plaque was installed on the Glory Obelisk in the village of Uhlia, Tiachiv district, in honor of Senior Lieutenant Oleksandr Shymon.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
